Yes, service should be done at authorised service centres only, atleast for 3 to 4 yrs or during warranty period. Ask service advisor not to change any part without clearance from you, the owner. At times certain part have enough life left in them, hence do not change with time only or the prescribed service e.g.4th paid service etc. However, oils must be changed as per laid down time(+10%max) as they turn acidic n can reduce engine life in long run.

Maintenance is a pain. I had an issue with the AC, the approximate cost the showroom told me was 1.5 lacks. I got it fixed for 25k. Also not everyone can work on these cars. It's better not to modify that way the car will run without problems. Other than this the car will keep you happy and entertained. Also on an average a standard authorised service will cost you at least ₹10000 and at max ₹17000.

Approx 7 to 10 k per year. Also would depend on parts and accessories / consumables you might need. It's very comfortable car. And could be a status symbol

  • Good Car

Good driving response better mileage and good stability on highways. Build quality is way better than Japanese and the looks are awesome till now. Road presence is really good. It gives me 13-14kmpl in the city and 18kmpl on the highway.

  • Skoda laura

I have been driving my skoda laura l&k diesel manual since 2011, When india last won the cricket world cup. It's a driver's car hiding behind its serene image of a corporate car.The electromagnetic steering wheel gives tons of feedback. There's a tidal wave of torque, Every time the engine speed goes beyond the 2500 rpm.No matter what curves the roads throw, It takes every turn like a hot knife carving through butter. And when i reluctantly restrain myself from having a heavy right foot, I get an incredible mileage of 25 kmpl.Beyond reasonable doubt, The skoda laura is best of both the worlds. In spite of crossing 70, 000 km, Haven't faced a single mechanical problem yet.Skoda service is nowhere as good as skoda cars.So take my machine to good private garages. The few things i have needed to attend to have been brake pad and oil change. That's not all, Last autumn i drove my skoda through the new road to ladakh - becoming the first sedan to cross the shinku la and enter zanskar. So far so great!.

    Nonsense car

I personally own a skoda laura 1.9 pd tdi model. The car is a no nonsense car with excellent dynamics and more than adequate performance though its a diesel powered car.The only downside is its service cost and poor dealership network with less transparency during its service period. It almost gives me an old school feel and i personally feel as if i'm owning a premium car of its segment above.
